Sprite squad
A digital basketball sweepstakes built to help every Sprite fan find their squad.
Idea
Sprite Squad invited basketball fans to scan a Sprite product, discover their local team and enter for chances to win tickets, merchandise and exclusive prizes throughout the season.
The experience needed to support multiple professional basketball teams while maintaining a recognizable Sprite campaign identity across every version.

Problem
Sprite needed a digital sweepstakes experience that could connect basketball fans with relevant teams and prizes based on their location.
The campaign included 17 professional teams and Unrivaled, each with its own branding, colors, merchandise and promotional content. The experience had to feel customized for every fan while remaining part of one cohesive Sprite campaign.
The design also needed to accommodate multiple phases of participation, including product verification, team assignment, prize drops, countdowns, sweepstakes entries and repeat visits throughout the promotion.
SOLUTION
How do we create one recognizable Sprite experience that can adapt across teams, prizes and markets?
We developed a responsive campaign system that combined Sprite’s bold visual identity with flexible team specific branding. A reusable system of components, layouts and graphic treatments allowed each team experience to feel personalized without losing consistency across the larger campaign.
The result was an energetic, mobile first experience that guided fans from product verification to team assignment, prize discovery and entry.
Process
I began by defining a flexible visual framework that could support the full campaign as well as individual team experiences.
Sprite green, expressive typography, basketball imagery and curved graphic elements established the core campaign identity. Team colors, logos, product packaging and merchandise could then be introduced without rebuilding the experience for every market.
Reusable cards and content modules supported live prize drops, instant wins, upcoming promotions and completed entries. I also created responsive page variations for mobile and desktop, ensuring the experience remained clear and engaging across devices.
Because the promotion changed throughout the season, the system was designed to accommodate rotating content, countdown states and new prize opportunities without disrupting the overall experience.
Designed for every stage of the promotion
01
Campaign entry
A bold campaign landing experience introduced Sprite Squad and encouraged fans to “Take Your Shot.”
Sprite products, basketball graphics and oversized typography created immediate energy while a clear call to action directed users into the experience.
A countdown module generated anticipation for upcoming prize drops and encouraged fans to return throughout the promotion.
02
Personalized team reveal
Fans were connected with a participating team based on their location.
Each team page incorporated its logo, colors, branded Sprite packaging and relevant prizes while maintaining the larger Sprite Squad design language.
This approach gave every fan a more personal experience without fragmenting the campaign into completely separate websites.
03
The Drop
The Drop served as the central destination for current prizes and sweepstakes opportunities.
A flexible card carousel highlighted tickets, jerseys, merchandise, electronics and other team specific rewards. Clear entry states communicated whether a prize was available, entered or coming soon.
The modular layout allowed new prizes to be introduced throughout the season while keeping the interaction familiar for returning users.
04
Instant wins and repeat engagement
Instant win opportunities gave fans additional reasons to participate beyond the featured team sweepstakes.
Supporting content explained how Sprite Squad worked, promoted upcoming drops and encouraged users to sign up for notifications. The experience was designed to bring fans back every two weeks as new prizes became available.
